In the beginning...

Hm, after 10 seconds of an attempt to plan out what to write, I realized the irony in this, as I'm supposed to write whatever comes to mind, or so I've heard? So time to throw away my perfectionism gene (temporarily), and write away, keyboard, write away!

Fluffle my chocolate truffle...Teehee, I like the sound of that =) I seriously have no idea where that came from though...I was cleaning my room one day, and it just popped into my mind, "Fluffle my truffle!" (Fluffle is actually the name of a stuffed dog that I received at Christmas from a friend of mine. Hurray for childhood friendships that last more than 10 years!)

Originally, the dog was called Fluffy, for obvious reasons, especially since my friend is of the male species =P I protested against such a generic name, and he eventually came up with Fluffle. As my tongue rolled around that word, in delight, I discovered that 'fluffle' seemed to be a combination of 'fluffy' and 'waffle!' For some strange reason, I fell in love with that word x)

Recently, some family friends went to a Hershey store [...research period] ...somewhere. [random tidbit: There are Hershey's stores in Niagara Falls, Chicago, Pennsylvania, and New York. Can you IMAGINE that? Stores dedicated to solely chocolate and every other sweetness imaginable...] Hmm, I wonder if there's chocolate in heaven?

Oops, back to my original point, those specific friends of the family brought me back a bag of Hershey's Kisses Dark Chocolate filled with Truffle Crรจme. Considering my slight obsession with chocolate, it's no wonder that while I was thinking about whatever I was thinking about as I was cleaning my room, chocolate wasn't that far back in my mind!

However, as I pondered 'fluffle my truffle' versus 'truffle my fluffle' (neither of them make sense anyway, so it was just about what sounded better. Doesn't it remind you of 'Leggo my Eggo!' from Eggo's waffle commercial? Well, it has nothing to do with Eggo, seriously!), I remembered reading something about truffle pigs/dogs a while ago [...research period] and when I Google image'd 'truffles,' my suspicions were confirmed...Truffles are these grotesquely strange...organisms, not the darling chocolates that I've come to love...The truffles that everybody knows about are chocolate truffles.

[random tidbit: "The scents produced by truffles to encourage mycophagy sometimes attract animals that are larger than squirrels. Some truffles, including the gourmet edibles Italian perigord, French white, and Oregon white, produce a scent that mimics a male pig sex hormone. It is for this reason that female pigs have been used historically in Europe to help find truffles. More recently, dogs have become the preferred truffle hunting companion for several reasons, among them 1) Dogs can be trained to find, but not eat the truffles, and 2) Dogs are much easier to get into the back seat of a car." -www.natruffling.org]

How interesting! Now we've all become slightly more knowledgable, not intelligent ;) Shout-out to sLO's 'I'M BEGGING YOU....................................' post!

Anyway, I'm now on the phone, and I've lost the 'flow' that I had. Argh, thanks Kevin...It's about time I ended this though, I have a feeling that this post is getting too long! Interestingly enough, everything above this paragraph was typed up really quickly, but these three sentences have taken me...thirty minutes =( It's definitely a challenge to write a post while listening to a 'possibly sick and still half-awake person at 2pm...' haha =P

I missed church today because I slept in because I was DS'ing under the covers because I was bored at 1am because I got home at midnight because I was with family friends over the weekend because I'm Starr. Make sense?

Nah =]

Feast your eyes upon the world's largest truffle! At 1.5 kg, this whopping 'huffle' of a truffle raised $330,000 for charity. Assuming I had enough money, I'd just donate $330,000 to charity...no need to give me this truffle in return! But hey, to each his own, right? What would I know about delicacies such as these? ;)
